First of all, sorry for asking this here, with a spec link to w3c. But I couldn't understand why some of the predefined CSS counter styles are listed under 'Complex' prefefined styles? For example, the japanese-formal and japanese-informal styles don't seem to be using any special algorithms - http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-counter-styles/#limited-japanese.

jsx: They group with the Chinese styles, which are "complex". Also, they previously were defined out to 10^16, which requires "complex" handling. That's not true any more, but wtv.
