I noticed something odd on the MDN page for the inert attribute. It says:

Inert HTML elements and their flat tree descendants:

  • Do not have click events fired when clicked on.

But in practice, inert elements do fire click events in certain circumstances. Was the spec originally meant to block clicks, or is MDN just inaccurate here?

In which circumstances?

The ones I remember: opening a <dialog> on pointerdown. setting inert on pointerup.

In MDN I would write this instead: Act as if the 'pointer-events' CSS property were set to 'none'.
