<zcorpan_>
hmm, has someone raised the <!-- issue with the ES4 guys?
09:58
<othermaciej>
what <!-- issue>
09:58
<othermaciej>
?
09:58
<othermaciej>
is it not properly described in ECMAScript?
10:01
<zcorpan_>
<!-- is, in browsers, equivalent to //
10:01
<zcorpan_>
but this is not specced in ecma 262
10:01
<zcorpan_>
and afaict also not in es4
10:02
<othermaciej>
yeah, it probably should be
10:03
<zcorpan_>
i wonder where feedback should go
10:05
<zcorpan_>
https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/es4-discuss perhaps

<jacobolus>
Hixie: I'm going to try to write a compatibility layer for server sent events stuff in javascript, so that they can be handled in Firefox/Safari using XHR streaming, but I think it will require 256 bytes of initial data for Safari to start incrementally rendering it, and I can't see any way to make it work in IE
17:11
<hsivonen>
I hate it when my app behaves differently when I take it outside the IDE
18:05
<hsivonen>
hendry: Validator.nu should now be GPLv3-compatible and, hence, suitable for Debian license-wise
18:06
<hsivonen>
hendry: hmm. except perhaps for JUnit which is under the CPL
18:06
<hsivonen>
bummer
18:08
<hsivonen>
hendry: JUnit isn't required at run-time, though, and stubbing at compile time could work
20:30
<hendry>
hsivonen: awesome
20:30
<hendry>
hsivonen: i'll file a Debian ITP
20:30
<hendry>
hsivonen: and hopefully package it this weekend
20:36
<hsivonen>
hendry: cool
20:37
<hsivonen>
hendry: it might be a good idea to package the html parser as a standalone package
20:38
<hsivonen>
Validator.nu now exposes the reason why an attribute datatype check failed (if the reason is available): http://html5.validator.nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fhsivonen.iki.fi%2Ftest%2Fmoz%2Fen-UK.html
20:41
<hendry>
hsivonen: very good
20:41
<hendry>
hsivonen: i'll mail you the ITP beforehand. Probably will do this tomorrow. I am very tired atm.
20:42
<hsivonen>
hendry: ok.
20:42
<hsivonen>
annevk: did they unblock wanadoo?
20:43
<annevk>
I don't think so
20:43
<annevk>
I can connect temporarily and I automatically connect when I reboot Opera...
20:43
<hsivonen>
oh
20:43
<annevk>
I suppose I'll timeout in due course
20:44
annevk
isn't sure who's problem it is though
20:45
<gsnedders>
parse error: unexpected "is".
20:46
<hsivonen>
gsnedders: your parser doesn't backtrack
21:01
<mpt>
A parser could have errored at "problem" since it isn't an adjective, adverb, or verb
21:07
<Philip`>
mpt: It can't stop that early, since "problem" might be part of a compound word like in "... isn't sure who's problem solving today"
21:10
<mpt>
Well, arguably "problem-solving" should be hyphenated...
21:13
<Philip`>
mpt: If that's arguable, I'll argue that it shouldn't be ;-)
21:15
<Philip`>
and it could still be like "... isn't sure who's problem number seven's author"
21:29
gsnedders
wonders what's coming to annevk playing Zelda of all games
21:35
Philip`
has it on his notional list of things to buy at some point in the future when he sees it cheap somewhere
21:41
<gsnedders>
me too, actually
23:10
<annevk>
hmm, seems wanadoo now actually works
23:10
annevk
is happy
23:11
<annevk>
gsnedders, Zelda on the Wii and DS is great; dunno about other Zelda games
23:48
jgraham_
would like a Wii + Zelda
23:48
<jgraham_>
But that's pretty far down the list of things that I would like
