I raised this in #tc39-ecma402:matrix.org
Thanks. It doesn't look particularly indicative of strong use cases existing that there isn't already a use case given on the channel while two collator implementors (Markus Scherer and I) on GitHub are saying that the sorting API isn't suitable for searching.

I have no opinion about the contents of this, but would you be interested in joining one of ECMA-402’s fortnightly calls to discuss with people who might? It would be nice to make a cross-browser decision about unshipping.

When is the call scheduled?

I have a monthly call on my calendar which is next Thursday (the 9th) at 10:00-12:30 Pacific

Ms2ger: What use case is this test ensuring proper support for? https://github.com/tc39/test262/issues/1696 That is, are you aware of a use case where it's actually useful to load a search collation into the sorting-oriented API? I'm seriously considering sending an Intent to unship: Search collations. (Due to making libxul larger with no reasonable use case that I can see given the API surface available.)
And to answer your question: I don't recall

OK. I remain unaware of a use case, then.
