smaug____: false, on Safari 9.1.2
04:43
<annevk>
Also in Safari Technology Preview (which also claims to be 9.1.2)
10:42
<smaug____>
hmm, what is :focus-within
10:43
<smaug____>
oh, I see
11:42
<Ms2ger>
annevk, could you have a look at https://github.com/w3c/web-platform-tests/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen+label%3Afetch ?
12:48
<jgraham>
brexit is making TPAC expensive :(
13:52
<smaug____>
mounir: ping
13:55
<smaug____>
or who might know about chromecast stuff
14:14
<nox>
Is there any NoInterfaceObject in the platform that is not used as a mixin?
14:15
<Domenic>
nox: I think there are several that are mistakenly that way but we've been trying to stamp them out
14:15
<nox>
Ok thanks.
17:32
<annevk>
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161364 WebKit is implementing the URL Standard \o/
17:33
<annevk>
New Safari preview had tons of DOM fixes
17:33
<annevk>
Very cool
17:34
<wanderview>
also appears STP 12 has Response.body ReadableStream
17:34
<wanderview>
Domenic: ^^^
17:47
<annevk>
And fetch() by default
18:01
<KiChjang>
which browser currently is the most standards-compliant?
18:10
<annevk>
Could someone maybe get in touch with https://twitter.com/reconbot/status/768453636930297856?
18:10
<annevk>
Seems there's interest in rebooting the serial work…
18:11
<annevk>
KiChjang: not sure there's a good answer to that
18:13
<annevk>
I guess I can reply to the tweet
18:13
<nox>
KiChjang: MOSAIC
18:45
<smaug____>
igrigorik: is preload supposed to be supported in shadow DOM?
18:50
<Domenic>
I wonder what the overlap is between the serial port API and Web USB. jyasskin have you seen https://whatwg.github.io/serial/ ? I guess it's something marcos started a while back that didn't make it past incubation?
18:53
<Domenic>
That is great about WebKit and the URL spec
19:01
<smaug____>
annevk: what does "report" mean in https://fetch.spec.whatwg.org/#concept-request-destination ?
19:03
<smaug____>
lovely, preload spec misses the main part, how the cache actually should work :) "Add request to preload response cache (TODO). "
19:04
<smaug____>
good that the "spec" is already implemented
19:04
<jyasskin>
Domenic: Yes, serial is a more limited API than WebUSB, but also doesn't have its security feature of requiring the device to opt in.
19:05
<Domenic>
jyasskin: yeah, that was about my guess. I suppose we should probably try to redirect some of that community interest around serial into Web USB... I think people stumbled upon the repo without being aware of the larger picture.
19:06
<jyasskin>
There are also ways to connect serial things over non-USB transports, so it's not exactly replaced by WebUSB.
19:08
<Domenic>
Hmm I see, I wonder if people are using that
19:08
<Domenic>
(I originally was super confused by the word "serial" in all this, five years ago when I first heard about this in the Node.js community. I was like... didn't we get rid of serial ports in the 1990s?)
19:11
<rniwa>
Domenic, annevk: did you see https://github.com/w3c/webcomponents/issues/560 ?
19:11
<Domenic>
rniwa: yeah. Not sure what I think about it yet.
19:11
<rniwa>
Domenic: this is a big blocker for us
19:11
<rniwa>
Domenic: In fact, we probably need to violate this part of the spec if the spec doesn't change
19:12
<Domenic>
rniwa: OK, I can try to prioritize higher. I need to sit down and figure out if I care of if I don't; if the latter then we should just change to make it easier for WebKit, and if the former I'd like to have some discussion first :)
19:13
<rniwa>
Domenic: ok, thanks
21:23
<botond_>
Is there an editor that syntax-highlights Bikeshed (.bs) files?
21:26
<jyasskin>
botond: I use web-mode in emacs.
21:27
<jyasskin>
It doesn't highlight Bikeshed's dedicated syntax, but the HTML's nice.
21:29
<TabAtkins>
botond: Included in the Bikeshed repo is an (out-of-date, but still useful) .tmLanguague file for Bikeshed. A lot of editors can use that.
21:30
<botond>
TabAtkins: do you know of an open-source editor (not Sublime or Textmate) that can use it?
21:30
<TabAtkins>
I only use Sublime, so no, I don't.
21:31
<TabAtkins>
Looks like Ace and Atom have converters for tmLanguage
21:34
<botond>
TabAtkins: i guess it's not the easiest language to highlight, containing as it does snippets of various other languages
21:34
<TabAtkins>
Meh. Depends on how high-fidelity you want.
21:34
<TabAtkins>
Getting basic tag support for HTML is sufficient for me.
21:35
<botond>
TabAtkins: i tried the .tmLanguage file in an evaluation version of sublime, and it does help. thanks!
